Check out the projects I've worked on

The projects I've worked on range from mobile apps, SaaS applications, internal desktop applications, and even a web application that would let you close your mortgage from anywhere. Unfortunately some I can't show due to restrictions.

Clear Sign Redesign

Amrock - Project year: 2022 (unfinished)

Our goal was to re-imagine what Clear Sign could be like from a mobile first approach. I worked with another designer to perform parallel designs to maximize possible solutions.

  • Competitive analysis: understanding our direct competitors systems, and understanding expectations around similar technology and processes.
  • User Research: interviews, analytics, and workshops to understand how people navigate the current system to identify shortcomings and potential next steps that could be helpful to users.
  • Prototyping and usability testing on everything that will go live.
  • Implementation of newly adopted design system to standardize visual design while making the product easier to maintain in the future.

Clear Sign Accessibility Audit

Amrock - Project year: 2022

Between a mix of compliance need and a want to improve the user experience, we did a deep dive into what it would take to bring accessibility standards up to WCAG 2.1 AA.

  • User Journey: expanded on a previously constructed user journey that showed where accessibility opportunities existed.
  • Accessibility Research: Deep dive into WCAG 2.1 AA standards to fully understand how to meet, as well as exceed minimums to craft an enjoyable experience .
  • Prioritization and road mapping: Approaching accessibility after the fact is a time consuming activity. We worked with our product team members to understand the current needs to build a roadmap for implementing short and long term accessibility goals.

Remote Online Notarization

Nexsys Technologies - Project year:  2019-2020

We took our in-person eClosing application and made it so you could do it remotely over video. We navigated new legislation, with a industry leading technology as we were met with a short deadline because of Covid.

  • Competitive analysis: As a new idea, we focused on understanding expectations around similar technology and processes.
  • User Research: Usability testing focused on main features and process flows to ensure a functional product.
  • Worked with developers to implement designs, including paired programming with developers that didn't have enough front-end experience.
  • Teamed up with our product team members and architects to make sure our software vendors would be able to meet our UX goals for short and long term solutions.

Downshift.io

Project year: 2015 - 2016

Our main goal was to figure out how we could make it easier for auto event coordinators to manage vehicle registration and guest registration to streamline waivers and approval processes.

Our secondary goal was to look into a way to combine the events and vehicles into a new social media platform where enthusiasts could share their vehicles and modifications while allowing others to follow what events they'll be at.

  • Competitive analysis: worked to better understand expectations around similar technology and processes, and what they might look like combined.
  • User Research: Insights gained from interviews done by marketing lead. Focused on potential app users, and event organizers to help understand both consumer and business needs.
  • Design Artifacts: pixel perfect graphics & designs specifications were delivered to developers along with annotations for interactions.

My Appraisals

Amrock - Project year: 2014 - 2015

Our focus was to reduce the time it took for appraisers to accept/decline orders, along with increasing the ability to more quickly communicate with them outside of phone calls and emails.

  • Stakeholder Touch Points: Weekly presentations to show design progress from interview insights and user shadowing.
  • User Research: Interviews with appraisers and scheduling teams to understand their workflows and general work processes.
  • Directly worked with mobile developers for both Android and Apple to deliver graphic assets, interaction expectations, and assist with quality assurance to ensure scaling between devices.
  • Front-end Development: Directly implemented the visual design for the web portal.
